Anyone else's SO like this?

So...I wish my husband was spontaneous. to surprise me with my favorite candy, or come home from work on a Friday saying "I have plans for us on Saturday". or be a bit romantic. rather then me always asking "let's go do something" and his response "you pick it". I love my husband, but his excuse for this is "my dad never taught me how to be spontaneous" and BTW his dad always surprises his mom on holidays birthdays ect. or on a "just because he wanted to" bases. I have surprised my husband with gifts, his favorite snacks, days out, I'd just like a little in return, is that to much to ask? idk maybe I'm being mean or selfish...but all he wants to do is stay home and play his video games. I to enjoy doing that, just not every day.
