What age do people accept that you will get married?

My bf and i are in college but have been dating for two years. We are both 20. Our family members make comments like you will meet other people and all but say we are still together and all what age do you accept that they will probably get married one day?

When you're engaged. And then some probably not until the day of the wedding.

25 perhaps. Depends on the couple and I don't find its my place to make judgements on other people's relationships anyway but the people making judgements might stop at around that age.

Honestly I think it depends on the family and the couple.  20 is really quite young.... yes, some get married then and thrive... just keep in mind that from a neuro biological perspective, the human brain doesn't fully mature in its chemistry until 25-26 years old.  So making a life time commitment before your brain has even quite finished shifting and growing, sets one up for more challenging foundation.

I would advocate travel, some time apart Air lots of time together growing and developing and making strong foundation and happy memories rather than trying to get to the "nest step" to prove something.

It's a personal choice, I think anything under 30 is way to young, I think its important to play the field and enjoy your single years before settling down.

My best friend and I both met our now husbands when we were 18 and freshmen in college. She got married at 19. I got married at 24. We're both happy. I just needed more time to do all of the exploring I wanted to do. She and her hubby were ready sooner. Age doesn't matter as much as when you and your bf are ready.

I think it depends on the couple & how long you've been together. We got together at 18/19 & were together for 5.5 year before we got engaged & 7 when we got married! everyone was saying it was about time!

My family was super excited. His family assumed I was pregnant and didn't believe us when we told them I wasn't. I turned 20 a month before the wedding, he was 19 still.
