Does sex work?

I just go checked today and my cervix is still closed. I'm so bummed. I'm 39 weeks 5 days. The dr said I have to wait til 41 weeks to be induced. He said to have sex BC whatever is in semen is the same as what's in pitocin. Has this worked for anyone?? Sex is Soooo uncomfortable and leaves me super crampy after so I'd prefer not to do it if it's not going to help me progress at all.

The cramping is a good sign! I know that it's uncomfortable but so is being pregnant an extra week. Sex is a totally natural way to get your body prepped for child birth. So you choose, have sex and get progressive cramps, or do nothing and be induced in a couple of weeks.

We've been having sex every other day so that I get a break in between and I went from closed to a little over a cm in a week and not thinned to almost 90%.. Don't know if it's the sex or my body doing it on its own but hey my hubs is happy and I don't mind since it's supposed to help and my poor hubs won't be getting any for 6 weeks after birth. 
My doctor said to defiantly try to orgasam that's what makes the uterus contract.

Semen helps soften the cervix. Orgasms make your uterus contract causing the cramping. All normal and all very good for getting things going

If you have a breast pump try stimulating your nipples with it, I told my friend to try it and that same night she went into labor. Worth a try!

My bf and I have been doing it sooo much in the last two weeks to try to get things progressing and I'm still only a fingertip dilated 😩 so it's not working for me but everyone swears by it.

Sex hasn't worked at all for us. No contractions from it, mucus plug or dilation. My cervix is soft but nothing else. We have sex pretty much every day and sometimes more than once a day.

Sex does work but mine won't do anything. He just told me yesterday after a whole month of no sex that he thinks ima go into labor or that he is gonna hurt me. I have SPD so the pain is bad when it flares up.
