Spelling of names is getting out of hand 🙄

As
I was working at a daycare center at the YMCA before I was put on bedrest, and there was a woman who came to check her little one in at the play n learn. Sweet little beautiful 2 year old girl. I get the last name, and we are supposed to confirm the first name with the parent. But I could NOT sound this one out. At all.
Saereigne.
I couldn't even wrap my head around it. Don't get me wrong, I'm down for unique names, but this is just screwed up spelling.... The girls name? Pronounced 'serene' as in idyllic, or relaxing. What was wrong with the original spelling?! How do you expect her teachers to get that?! Future employers?!? How do you expect her to learn to spell that in kindergarten?! I get maybe getting a little creative. Like my son Jace, I could've spelled in jayce easily. But there's a line guys, come on. Please tell me I'm not the only one that this bothers!
