Family at Birth?

What is everyone doing family-wise? Are you having family celebrate with you for the birth or are you saving the moment just for you and your SO?

My hospital only allows 3 people in the room during the birth but our families are welcome to come visit a few hours afterwards. The hospital does skin-on-skin for the first hour and leaves the mother and baby alone to bond. Then after a few hours we get to bathe the baby with the nurses. That's the point where people can come up and celebrate with us :)

During the actual birth only my husband and birth photographer will be in the room. My hospital then has a mandatory 1 hour skin to skin with no visitors. After that we'll move up a floor to a different room and whoever wants to visit is allowed.

Just my husband and I - his parents and sister will be nearby and will be allowed to visit during the hospital's visiting hours a few hours after the baby is born once we've done skin to skin and settled etc. My family are all in a different country so won't be visiting,  which suits me.
