our baby girl is here! 🎀
UPDATE- thank you everyone for your sweet words. We are so blessed and things have been wonderful. Unfortunately we found out today that because our baby was in the breech position for so long she has hip dysplasia and both of her hips are dislocated. We are seeing an orthopedic specialist and she will have to wear a brace. Dealing with this has been the most difficult of all- no matter how much sleep we lose or how sore my nipples are from breastfeeding. Please pray for us that her treatment goes quickly and smoothly. Thank you! ❤️
My due date was today, Saturday August 13. Yesterday morning I woke up with pretty good cramps and back pain about 6:30 and told My husband I thought I was going into labor so better get ready. I had a doc apt at 1:30 Yesterday and midwife checked and said dilated to 1 cm so I was all excited there was progress and I was having contractions. Well for some reason she said have we done an ultrasound to check position of baby? And I said no so she did. And it turns out she was breech 😥 I balled so hard. Midwife recommended we try a version so we did that last night at 7:30. Tried 2 times and it was pretty rough. They gave me medicine to relax my uterus but it made me shake uncontrollably so that was the worst part- trying to relax and breath through the pain of the version while shaking. Baby was stubborn and version attempts to turn her did not work. My contractions were progressing we decided my only real option was to do a c section. I cried a lot because that's the last thing I wanted. Here I had prepared a birth plan, planning to go all natural birth and labor in water, had a midwife, doula, read all the books etc. Spent much of my pregnancy mentally preparing for a natural labor. Never even considered the worst case scenario of a csection. It was really rough and they just kept pumping me full of meds. Very invasive feeling and not at all what we had planned for. Hoping the next baby is not so stubborn. However, at 10:08 last night we welcomed our daughter Leona Renee into the world. 7 lbs 9 oz and 20 inches of perfection. I think she was trying to teach her mom a lesson that things don't always go as planned!
