Can I wear tampons?

I am 2 months and a few days postpartum. My doctor cleared me for sexual activity.

If I have been cleared to have sex, does this mean that I can wear tampons?

I didn't ask my doctor, because I was NOT expecting to have my period back so soon, as I am breastfeeding!
