My labor and delivery!

Laura
My baby boys due date was August 3rd 2016. I told him he needed to wait until August 4th to come because that's when I got my couches. The night of August 3rd I started to feel slight cramps like period cramps coming and going every fifteen minutes until about 6am the next morning August 4th. They stopped until about 6pm. Then the cramping started again. The nurse said to come in when contractions were five mins apart , lasting for one minute, for a hour.  They were very inconsistent. Contractions every fifteen mins to five mins to ten mins to five. How do I know if it is true labor or false labor. Finally at about ten pm they were about every 5-9 mins. I decided we should go to the hospital and get checked out. Now they were like bad period cramps, bad enough to moan and groan! I tell my boyfriend to get ready. Now they are about three to four mins apart! We get to the hospital and they take us to triage for them to check on the baby and me. They ask "why are you here?" I smile and tell them I think I'm having contractions but am not sure. When we get in the room the nurse tells me "honey I have been a nurse for over twenty years and seen many women have babies and you don't appear to be in labor or else you wouldn't be talking and smiling or walking. But I will check you anyways" she goes to check if I am dilated and says "wow, you're just tough! You're five cm dilated!" So we get to the delivery room and people are visiting me, maybe for about 45 mins I have been in the room. Everyone knows I want a epidural but they had to wait for labs to get back. Next thing you know I feel a warm gush. I tell the nurses "something just happened down there" (my water broke apparently) the nurse reaches down to check me and says "you're fully dilated" I tell them ok let's get my epidural going! They tell me nope the baby is coming! I start to feel him kind of coming out more, my contractions got much more painful. The dr still hadn't arrived. I told them I can't stop him he is coming ! Finally the floor dr came (not the OB) as soon as the dr came in I said "he's coming. Do I push?" They said if you want! So I pushed and felt him coming out. After three hard pushes and three deep screams the little man was out after thirteen minutes of my water breaking! It was the most painful thing I have ever felt and I will never forget but he is worth it!!!!
