How will the doctors check me to see if I am dilating? Just wondering what the process is.

They usually do it at your doctors appointment if you're like 38wks or more sometimes you can ask at 37wks if they feel like they should or not. But it really depends on your doctor tbh.

Mine tell me to relax and let my legs fall a lil (funny right?) And then she uses one or two fingers (not sure) and pushes it into my vagina! she doesnt move much or nothing! 
Personally, it hurts but idk about everyone else!

My midwife checked me at 38 weeks and says I can be checked again this week at 40, but only if I want. Since it's painful and not a true indicator of anything, I can refuse and plan on it.

My doctor had me make fists and sit on them to til upward more. She felt around... It was pretty quick. It wasn't uncomfortable at all. As of Friday I'm 80% effaced and 1cm dilated. 38 weeks and 2 days.
