What do contractions feel like?

What do your contractions feel like? Everyone says, "oh, you'll know!" But I'm a FTM, do I REALLY know?! 😳🤔😩

You may not actually lol. I commented to my boyfriend that I felt cramping. He said "those are contractions". I felt like an idiot. But when they get strong... oh, you'll know. You just may not recognize the early ones.

With my first my contractions came on strong and less then 5 mins apart right away. 20 mins later my water broke and I thought that I peed myself. I was in complete denial that I was in labor. I watched a tv show and everything. Had to change my pants 3 or 4 times because the leak was continuous. Finally I thought soaking in the tub was a good idea to relax me, my husband came up and I couldn't stand i was in so much pain. I started crying and when I dried myself off there was blood on the towel. That's when I finally accepted I was in labor.

Contractions were excruciating, but I still didn't believe they were real. So you'll definitely feel the pain, but you might not know what they are. All I know is that when the real contractions came I had a hard time breathing and talking. Like I could talk through Braxton hicks and still focus on what i was doing. But with real contractions I couldn't focus on anything else.

I'm a ftm and I just know I'm finally experiencing contractions. But I heard they can feel different for everyone. If you an abdominal discomfort for more than 30 secs I guess it could be one. Mine feel like full achey stabs or like someone is tugging on my insides. It's hard to describe how it feels.

trying to figure out the same thing! i told my mom ive been getting to me what feels like cramps and she says those are contractions. it hurts but the pain is totally tolerable so im like are they really contractions lol.

I thought the same thing but trust me - you will know! It's annoying to hear but so true. They feel like period cramps times a million. I started out with what felt like my period was coming, very mild and I went into labor 12 hours later.
