Can I request to be induced?

Question

My husband works an hour away from where we live and longer from the hospital. Not to mention his work will try to fire him if he leaves and I go into labor at home and have to call him so he can leave to come get me and our 2 year old. Can I request to be induced after 37 weeks?

No they won't induce till 39 weeks unless you or the baby are in danger trust me I already tried

In Ontario Canada, I have asked my doctor when baby is safe to enter world, my obgyn said she can't do anything until 38 weeks. Anything before 34 weeks I would have to be transferred to a children's hospital which is 40 mins away from where I live. So after hitting 34 weeks I have been reading into how to induce my labor on my own terms. Some say that you have to do certain things for a few weeks before it actually does anything but the main thing I'm focused on is how to figure out to make it less painful 😂 I know right who am I kidding. Stimulating my nipples has actually brought on some serious contractions but still nothing yet I still have until Saturday once I hit 34 weeks so I have tried other things. Walking, swimming, spicy foods. Not so much contractions while doing that I just want to be able to have my cervix thinned out first! If your close with your obgyn maybe ge/she may agree to a birth plan to put you in early to have your partner there for support. I know mine will :)  Good luck.

My doctor said she wants to get me 37-38 weeks and she'll induce but I guess it depends on the Doctor. Plus my baby is due during Christmas and I think my doc wants to do it before the holiday.
