Your chance of getting breast cancer is slightly higher if you don't breastfeed but it doesn't mean you will get cancer if you don't and there is still a chance of getting it if you do.

My maternal grandmother had 5 kids and was a wet nurse and got breast cancer (thankfully found out early and it was removed & she's fine now).

My paternal grandmother had 6 children and had to have a double masectomy due to breast cancer...

So even breastfeeding a lot doesn't prevent it.

Your chances of getting cancer reduce if you breast feed but not doing so is also a choice and will not increase the risk to my knowledge. I don't believe there is a right or wrong as long as the baby is healthy and being fed. It's a personal choice ,I breast fed my son for a year before weaning him off. 😊
