My last delivery was fine , it's just the recovery from my tears that has me really scared , is there certain ways for it not to happen again ????

My midwife told me not to rush pushing. Take your time and let the baby take its time. The reason the baby crowns for so long is because if the perenium and its a natural deffence to stop it from tearibg :) With every push, she would hold a warm wet towel with oil on the perenium and it helps avoid tearing and made the perium much more relaxed and flexible. Your body is not meant to push as fast as doctors want you too, which is why so many women tear. I have even heard of people pushing very lightly with every contraction and it helped it.

My doctor massaged my son's head out when I had my second child and I didn't tear. I did with my first. I hope I don't tear with this one. I have a different doctor.
