I just found out my grandma is on hospice and my boyfriend does want to be here for me when I need him. Is that a sign to end this relationship?

It might be difficult for him, some people arent good with death you cant blame him for that

Well, it depends on what you mean by being there for you.  It means something different to everybody.  If you mean offering supportive words and actions, yes of course he should.  Keep in mind though that he might not know what to say or do.  If you mean he should drop everything including his responsibilities to be at your beck and call, then no that is too much to expect.  I'm not assuming that is what you mean.  It's just that I have seen that happen so I'm just throwing it out there.  No offense meant.  A deal breaker for me would be if he is saying hurtful things to you or being totally dismissive of your feelings.  You don't need that at anytime.  Best wishes for both you and your grandmother.

That's rude. I'd consider a break but if it was me I couldn't bring myself to do it. You should tell him he's being rude and that if he truly loved you that he'd be there with you. Personally my boyfriend couldn't be with me when my grandma died but he never stopped asking about her when she was at the hospital and if it wasn't because everyone was crying and my sister telling me it wasn't a good idea to introduce him to everyone he would've gone to her funeral. Anyways if he responds rudely to you after you talk to him you should definitely consider a break up

Oh sorry I didn't notice the correction. Some people just don't know how to go about handling situations like that, especially if they can't relate. Maybe just try talking it out with him and if you still aren't receiving the response you want from him then maybe consider a break

Hospice doesn't mean death.. Hospice can be used for recovery or a long term illness ( lasting more than 6 months).. Does your grandma have something life threatening?
