Who has had the Epidural? And how bad does it hurt...?

Labor is JUST around the corner and this might sound nuts but, to be completely honest, I'm so terrified for the Epidural!!!!!! Has anyone had it before??

I was the same way!! But in my birth class I learned they use a local anesthetic before they do it so it doesn't hurt, made me A lot less scared of it!

Just had one,  I was terrified of the idea too,  but giiiiiirl did I love it!!  I was at a 3 and was getting back to back contraction & I wanted to cry so I asked if I could go ahead & they did!!  Started pitocin at 6a.m.  had baby boy at 7:28 pm 💙💙

I had it just felt a little pinch contractions noe thats what really hurts

At the time...you just want the contraction pain to go, so you are pretty much happy with them doing anything! lol

I am TERRIFIED of needles and I can honestly say the epidural didn't hurt ... The anticipation of the needle was worse than the needle itself... They numb the area ... All I felt was a little prick ... The anesthesiologist was testing the area so I felt that but it wasn't painful... And it was the best decision ever ... Those contractions are NO JOKE... And I was only 1 1/2 cm dilated ... Hadn't got to the major contractions ... Had to have an emergency C-section... Good luck ... You'll be fine ...

I honestly didn't feel it at all, it's not very thick and it's flexible so don't worry!

I don't remember feeling it too. Just felt doctor doing stuff to my back and little pressure 
I was scared too , I hate needles so much
