Why can't America!!!

Y can't America b like Canada and give us 50 weeks for maternity!!!! We focus so much on other issues but not the issues that really matters!! I feel lady's will have less depression and stuff if they can stay home with their baby's longer than 6 or 12 weeks it sucks

USA has one of the lowest voter turnouts of any country. many voters are also misinformed on paid maternity leave and how it massively improves quality of work, unemployment rates, economy, etc. Also - don't just vote in presidential elections - make sure you're voting in local elections, state elections, senate/house of reps, any election that comes around. nowadays a quick Google search is all you need to do to find out whether a candidate will advocate for women's rights (which typically includes longer paid maternity/paternity leave). You can also write letters to your congress people and urge them to vote for these matters. until then... American women (and their children, and their husbands who aren't guaranteed paternity leave either) will just have to suffer without this super essential healthcare right 😐🙄

And paid! That's the only thing I'm not looking forward to when I have my baby. Will be so stressed about making sure bills get paid. I've got most of them paid ahead so I don't have to worry about those ones
