Any tips for the first days at home?

Just wondering what the pain is like in the days after giving birth. My boyfriend can only take off the days that I'm going to be in the hospital and then I'm on my own at home. I'm going to have to do it by myself regardless, but I'm just hoping I'm not in a huge amount of pain to where caring for her is difficult. Are there any tips you guys might have? Thanks ladies 😘

The pain is fine. You're a little sore when you go to the bathroom but it's not bad. And I had an extremely painful birth/ bad tearing. Just make sure you get sleep in the hospital while your boyfriend is there:)

Honestly it all depends. With my first I could barely walk because I had a whole lotta stitches lol. With my second I walked right out of the hospital when they discharged me because I had zero pain. Don't rush things though. Do what you can and don't over exert yourself and listen to your body. You did just push out a tiny miracle after all.

If you have a vaginal birth, it depends if you have major tearing or not,  but you'll likely be fine on your own. My most recent birth (3rd baby) was a surprise C section (she unexpectedly went into distress) and being alone would have been difficult, I needed help for about a week. Make frozen meals ahead of time or buy easy to make meals like deli meat for sandwiches. Get paper plates and plastic forks for days you're too tired to do dishes. If it's at all possible to have friends/family pitch in or if you can afford a cleaning service for the first few weeks, it will help you tremendously. But yes it's doable :)

From my experience, I'd say don't push yourself. Have freezer meals as others have suggested and leave the housework go. I felt great after leaving the hospital despite tearing. I didn't need pain meds or anything. I was sore down there and had to sit gently and walk kind of slow for a few days but otherwise I felt great. Unfortunately because I felt great I resumed a lot of household chores like cooking, cleaning, laundry, and walking around. I got really sick because I wore myself out. I was also dehydrated from shaking and sweating so bad postpartum. My body had gone into shock. I'd suggest a big cup or readily available water bottles for you to drink too especially if you plan to breastfeed.

With my First two the pain was very little. You just move slow and are very tired. Everyone's pain tolerance is different tho, and i didn't tare.  
I would make some freezer meals so you dont have to worry about cooking and make sure to have food in the house, you wont want to leave.

My biggest issue was from pushing too hard - got the "roids". This time I'm going to be sure to have prescription strength cream at home for recovery. Oh, and the squirt bottles for after using the restroom!

Prioritize. When I came home I over exhausted myself caring for baby and trying to keep up with the laundry and the dishes. Take care of baby first. Then ur self don't kill yourself and try to nap with the baby.

Honestly, you'll be sore but more excited to be home so it kind of takes away from the pain. Just try not to do too much all at once. Be careful lifting things, etc.
