So I had posted a couple days ago or so about my baby boy having a hard time latching on my breast after being bottle fed. He came a month early on July 23 instead of August 23. When he was born , due to low blood sugar they had to monitor him in the nicu. Healthy without the use of feeding tubes or help with breathing he was released to me in my room. However I had wanted to go straight to breastfeeding which I specifically said before he was born. Obviously they ignore me and started him on formula bottle. Formula wasn't my idea at all. But anyways, I tried breast feeding once he got to me but he couldn't latch he had such a hard time doing so I ended up pumping 😞 after we got back I went to a breastfeeding clinic which is also my diabetes specialist she got me on the nipple shield. Don't get me wrong I love it, it at least made me feel close to my baby somehow. But I eventually got tired of it because having to put it on late at night and he gets fussy cuz he's hungry. So I tried my hardest to get him to latch on with out it. I swear I had bruised my own boobs I pulled and massage and tug until my nipple was kinda out and got him to latch. A couple times I nearly gave up 😩 I'm glad I didn't because it actually work lol. He is 3 weeks and 5days and has latch on with barely any help. I'm so happy lol yes probably not a good idea to beat your boobs over but ladies it really is worth seeing your newborn able to suck without support I know for me it's worth it. 😂😂👌
I do wish I could share a small clip of him sucking but I guess just picture it is 😊😊
