Umbilical cord falling out with blood ?!

So my sons umbilical cord is falling out and looks like this is this normal? He is very upset and irritable and I'm worried any ideas or advice

My daughters looked exactly the same as yours. I was really scared (FTM as well) and then when we went in for her two week check up it was literally hanging by just a thread and bleeding too and I showed her doctor who told me it looked perfectly normal and asked me if I had a nail clippers in my bag and I have them to her and she snipped the little piece it was hanging by off lol. I was worried about the bleeding too but it was perfectly normal and now my 6 week old has a perfect cute little button on her belly 🙂looks perfect to me mama !

That's what my LO's belly button looked like. His cord fell off really early (5 days old) and we were left with this raw flesh with dried blood filled belly button. We asked the dr and she said it was fine as long as no oozing pus and doesn't smell bad. We just continued to wipe it with alcohol pads like we did when he had the cord still attached.

As long as its not oozing puss or sweeling, its perfectly normal :)

It's normal just keep it clean with warm water and it needs air to it so it can dry. My baby belly button went like that and his cord came off find and heald nicely just as log as there not puss or the belly button very red on the belly then it's fine.

Just happened to my son and we happened to be at the pedi office and he said it was all fine. We just kept it clean and it fell off a few days later. Doc said as long as it's not excessive blood then it's fine, we were finding blood on the inside of his onesie and the top of his diaper. I know it looks scary but it looks like it's almost ready to go.
