I have a son who is approaching 2 months and he doesn't like to be put down. He has to be asleep in arms before I lay him anywhere. He won't be in a swing, bouncer, or anthing. When he wakes up and realizes someone isn't holding him he screams. Is this normal or do I have a difficult baby? He will not sleep alone at night either. He never has slept in his bassinet for the night because every time I try he screams. He has to sleep with me or he is upset. Any opinions on this?

My son can't sleep alone. His doctor told me he has silent reflux. At night it's too hard to wake up, feed him, hold him upright for half an hour, and then risk him waking up again because I try to put him back down. Especially when he cluster feeds (eats every hour to hour an a half- 30 min each feeding, and he's exclusively breast fed) I was exhausted and starting to go crazy, the PPD was killing me, and my appreciation of motherhood. He sleeps in our bed with us, it's easiest for every one.

In the last week my 6 week old has started to sleep poorly at night in his bassinet... Yet he sleeps perfectly well in the bed with us. From what I've read most times it's a phase that they grow out of (being new to the world they need the comfort of a warm body). Maybe just try it in baby steps of getting him/her to lay in the bassinet at least for 10 minutes at a time to get used to it... You could put a used shirt of yours in there so they have the smell of you for comfort. Make sure their bed is warm as what they want might just be the warmth from you... Just a few suggestions, hope they help. Good luck xx

My little man is the same. During the day he can't fall asleep unless we hold him and unless he's in a really deep sleep he'll wake up and cry immediately when we put him in his bouncer or swing. At night if we lay him in his cosleeper he'll wake up and cry but as soon as we pick him up he's perfectly fine and then sleeps on or beside me all night. I think it's all just a part of being so little and wanting to know we're nearby ❤

Great suggestions! Thank you! I didn't think to try to warm it first
