Stockpiling diapers and wipes

Hi all - I see a lot of people stockpiling diapers and wipes and I'm just curious: is anyone else NOT doing this or is it common practice? I didn't plan to as I have no issue with buying things as we need them, but I keep seeing these posts and am wondering if that's a mistake and if I should do it.
