Incorrect gender results?

Hello ladies,

I had my MaterniT21 blood test done at 10+1 and got results stating a healthy boy. I was surprised because I really thought it was a girl (this pregnancy was VERY different from my first... A boy 11 years ago). I went in for a u/s at 12 weeks and had two different techs tell me it looks like a girl. HUH?! So now I'm unsure again. Obviously health is the most important thing but just curious... Has anyone else been through this? And if so, what happened? Thanks!!!

Well 12 weeks is too early to accurately tell the gender on an ultrasound. Those blood tests measure fetal DNA in your blood and are very accurate, 99+% chance it's a boy.

If there was a Y chromosome found in your blood test than it's definitely a boy. No room for era there because women do not carry that chromosome.

I felt in my heart I was going to have a girl. Had the maternity 21 test and it came out a boy. And he is still a boy at 36 weeks. 12 weeks is kind of early to tell if it is a boy or girl from an ultrasound.

At 12 weeks girls and boys nubs look the same. That's why many people get told one thing at 12 weeks then at 20 weeks they get told the opposite. That blood test is much more accurate, they can't be wrong
