Time to end it???

Question

Long post sorry. So my husband and i have been together for two years. We were great in the beginning never fightong or anything. But he has never held a job longer than two months. And everytime I bring it up he has excuses, sometimes valid other times not. This time its that he has to get his tonsils removed. Over the last few months things have fallen apart to the point that I don't want to be with him anymore. We've been either arguing or tense together for the past month. And I've tried ending things several times only to cave in the end. He has been verbally abusive in the past and I think the only reason he stopped is bc I finally threatened to leave him. I told him I needed a break tonight and now I'm at my mom's. I'm torn bw whether it's time to end it or give him another chance but i honestly can't see him ever changing. What do you guys think?

My honest option is that marriage is a life long commitment and that you should do everything you can to try to uphold that commitment.

I don't think you have to stay with someone forever but you do need to try to work it out before throwing in the towel. Have you tried therapy?

Other that the major incidents (cheating, abuse, criminal conduct) I think you owe it to each other to try counciling before ending it.

My husband had 2 back surgeries and was back to work in 2 weeks. Then he had his tonsils out and surgery on his nose and was back to work in a week. That's not really an excuse. I would try marriage counseling though

He's leaving a job because of a tonsillectomy? Why can't he just take a few day off instead of quitting? I don't understand..

I have a friend that is exactly in the same position as you are. And they are borderline about to get kicked out because they just have a newborn and she can't work right now because she had a C- section. And it's just something you need to think about before you have kids is this what you want for the rest of your life having to never be able to depend on someone that is supposed to be there for you. He also doesn't like to watch the kids so she had to go back to work early and I had to drop off the kids with whoever she can. I know people on here are saying you need to make a marriage work but honestly someone that is like that will be like that for the rest of their life you cannot change someone that does not like to work. They've been together for over 10 years and he's had said that he will change and nothing just a thought:)

Marriage is forever. You don't just back out when the time gets hard. You pray and claim peace over your marriage. You pray everyday, all day and peace will come. You vows were for rich and poor, sickness and health until death do you part. This mean fighting with prayer each day for God to hold y'all union together. So, no don't walk away just because a little bump in your road. You are going to experience down times just as well as your up time. Marriage was not created to be easy but to struggle through with your spouse. Rejoicing in making it through the rough patches. You are supposed to be his help meet, his motivation in the hard times. And visa versa.
