Timing baby feedings....thoughts???

My daughter is a little over 5 weeks old, and I've been timing her feeding ever since she was born. I am breastfeeding her and she has been gaining the appropriate weight. Should I continue to keep logging her feeding and does anyone else do the same? Any advice would be helpful!!!

I stopped timing them (writing it down) the week I brought my baby home. I just kept an eye on the clock and a general idea of when she should eat or poop next in case it went too long. Once I figured out that she had a good schedule down and would cry when she was hungry i stopped altogether and just nursed on demand.

My son is 7 weeks tomorrow and I still log when he eats and diaper changes. Doctor has me feeding on command so the log doesn't effect if I'll feed him or not, it just gives me peace of mind. I'm so exhausted that this helps me keep better track

I still track just because I find it easier to understand his behavior and keep on track with naps. I was never worried about reaching goal times as compared to anything, it was more for my knowledge of his schedule.

We have twins so we do time feedings. When one wakes up hungry will wake the other one feed them it works out great. First we can a half we record it when we've fat on how much and they're what was in their diaper. It's too much to record everything with twins plus being almost 7 weeks old we know they are regular  and gain the appropriate weight

Agree. I stopped timing them because the information was stressing me out - I am more relaxed now, feeding when my baby gives me signs, than I was, fretting over how log it had been between feeds or how long each feed lasted. Normally, I love data and tracking information, but parenting has been the first time that I'm more confident going with the flow than I was going with the facts.
