Pregnancy test after HCG shot?

Question

I received a trigger shot on Wednesday last week.  Since that's a HCG shot, will I be able to use home pregnancy tests?  Or will the doc have to do a blood test maybe?  Or something else?

I took a HPT yesterday just to see and it was positive.  I know it's WAYYYY too early for that to be legit, so I'm guessing it's the trigger shot I'm seeing.  Any advice?

On a side note, after 10 months of trying that positive was amazing to me, even if it was false. :)

I tried to test out the trigger from 4 dpo but I never really got a negative. There was always a faint line. It did start getting darker though which gave me my BFP in the end. Good luck and keep testing ?

At 14 days past trigger you can test with an at home test and the trigger would be gone. Or some doctors will have you just automatically come for a blood test.

It is recommended to wait two weeks after trigger shot so you won't get a false positive.

Sounds like the trigger. It took 8 days for it to leave my system last month. Sounds like we are cycle buddies this month. I triggered last Tuesday.  The TWW is driving me crazy.

I'm in the same boat. I got my trigger shot last Wednesday too and I'm so tempted to test but everyone says it takes about 2 weeks and I don't want to see that positive and get my hopes up.

Of course if you test now it will detect the trigger. After TWW, when it is time for a HPT, the trigger shot will be long  out of your system, I've tested as early as 9 DPO and had negatives, so it's gone by then

My trigger was usually out of my system in 5-6 days. I usually tested on  the 6th day to see if it was positive. I knew if it was then it was the trigger shot. It was usually very light at this point

It could be the trigger it metabolizes differently in everyone, especially depending in the amount. My trigger is gone within 5-10 days. Best of luck!

Use your dollar store tests and test daily until you see a negative. Then you test from there. I've been there, sister, the trigger shot toys with your emotions!
