Drinking Ensure while pregnant??

I'm 8 weeks 4 days... I have problems with a fluctuating weight... My weight goes from 102 to 109... So I was thinking about drinking Ensure to help with that and I was wondering is it safe to drink during pregnancy??

The quality isn't the best and they are way over priced. You're better off making your own smoothie...buy a good protein powder and add fruit to it.

My doctor told me to drink ensure because I wasn't gaining weight. Still only gained 10 pounds and I'm 30 weeks. It only helped as like a snack if I wasn't feeling well enough to make something.

I don't know what exactly the Ensure helps you with but my Dr told me the Atkins drinks are safe during my pregnancy if that helps.
