Early delivery ???

Question

I'm 31 weeks today I went into labor delivery to be checked because I started feeling some contractions and I believe I lost my mucus plug a week or so back I don't remember exactly . When I went it they did a exam and I was dehydrated which was throwing me into pre term labor. My contractions were every 3 to 11 minutes so she pumped me with fluids and they subsided. They weren't bad I only felt 2 of them but she saw them. On the monitor. She then checked my cervix. They were closed but she says they are soft for 31 weeks. What does this mean? Will I have my baby early ?

Ps. I was told to take it very easy and just to follow up with my dr. At my next visit I just want to be prepared if these are signs I could have my son early ?

I was 3cm dilated at 17 weeks and I went to 32 weeks and my sister was 2cm dilated at 22weeks and she was induced at 42 weeks... It doesn't mean anything baby could come tomorrow or you could need induced after your due date

When she says you're soft it means your cervix is starting to efface or shorten. I've been 70-80% effaced with this babe since 32 weeks and I'm almost 38 weeks now! Water and rest help a lot :)

You won't necessarily have your baby early. As long as you stay hydrated you should be fine. I was a 4 for a long time with my first. My baby I just had I was 80% effaced at 35 weeks

With my last pregnancy I had a similar experience at 32 weeks and again at 34-35 weeks, my son was born at 38 weeks. Don't stress yourself out and take it easy like the hospital said.
