5 week old lost 9 ounces in 3 days - different hospital scales though- otherwise he has been gaining fast and well. For the first few weeks we were supplementing with formula 1 to 2 bottles a day. And then we were feeding him pumped breastmilk in addition to straight breast-feeding. Over the past week I have done pretty much straight breast-feeding. He does not act overly hungry he seems satisfied after he eats however he asks to nurse for comfort often. And overnight he has been eating less. Now I am questioning if it is a hunger cry rather than a comfort cry and that he is not getting enough to eat. Also when I pump I usually only get 2 ounces at a time And I know it takes 3 ounces to satisfy him with a bottle. I'm worried my supply is not sustaining him and I'm wondering how I could increase my milk supply.
