Maybe no shower?

Question

We don't have a ton of friends (some friends from our college group) and almost all my family are 8 hours away.

When I had my bridal shower I only had like 5 ladies show up. I'm really worried my baby shower will be the same thing. Thing is, I'm not even thinking this for the gifts. I love sharing memories with all of the people I love and I love parties.

Is anyone else worried about this? I'm thinking that my husbands grandmother is the one that will throw the shower, but I don't know yet. Who/how should I bring up my concerns?

Personally, I wouldn't want to have a shower with people that I don't feel really connected to.  But, etiquette wise, I think that if someone wants to throw you a shower, then it's just good manners to respect that and let them do it. Another thing to consider is that you could plan to go home (your home and/or husband's home) before the baby arrives so that your family and friends there have the opportunity to throw you a shower.  It can be a grounding experience and everyone especially elderly family members and family friends will appreciate being able to see you and the baby bump.  It's a good and important time to share.

Yes, I am. I know that exact feeling. My man and I are new to the city we live in now and all of our family is far away.. The only friends I have are coworkers. But I heard that the hospital I work at throws baby showers for employees. So I'm assuming that will be my only shower. I'm sad because I want to share this experience with my family and close friends but it's kinda impossible😞
