how to do tummy time at 3 weeks old?

I have a little mat that comes with a pillow for tummy Time but whenever i lay her down her face kind of just goes flat into the mat .. When she does turn her head to the side she just generally looks awkward and uncomfortable .. Is that normal?

You can try to turn her head to one side. We also do a version of tummy time with him laying on us. It doubles as skin to skin time and he still gets to practice picking his head up.

Look up all the ways to do tummy time. You can lay on the floor and have babe on your stomach. Or reclining on the couch with babe on your chest. The floor isn't the only place for tummy time.

When you lay her down, try to control where her head ends up. It's going to look uncomfortable for a while. They have to learn to turn their head on their own, hold their body up, etc. If your baby still buries his head, just make sure he can breathe. I find it best, though, to make sure I lay my baby down with her cheek on the pillow or her chin. A few examples... and one taken right before tummy time ended of her fussing to show that's normal, too. Sometimes they get frustrated because they can't do much

Honestly, until they get complete control.. No matter what age they are, it's going to look(and probably be a little) uncomfortable. It's like a workout for them.

I would say so, my son didn't look too happy and would cry when his face would go into the the bed while he was on his tummy. He was 3 days old here.
