Question about knee and possible surgery 😳😳😳

So I found out a little over a week ago at an urgent care that I have a torn meniscus in my left knee. It is the medial meniscus. They gave me a knee brace to wear which I pretty much wear all day every day except when I go to bed and shower. They also gave me anti-inflammatory's. She said they normally heal on there own but if it doesn't I'll need surgery. It felt better for a while but started hurting again. I was just wondering if anyone had gone through anything similar or had to have the surgery. Any tips?? Or if I do need surgery what to expect??
