almost 9 months old and still not sleeping...
Our first baby was so easy! He slept through the night at 6 weeks and is still (4 years old) a champion sleeper! This baby... Not so much. He goes to bed around 8:30 and is up again about every 4 hours. When he wakes, he wants to eat. I think this is habit. When he was born, he had a milk allergy that went undiagnosed for a couple of months and actually took a a while for him to get back up to his birth weight. The pediatrician recommended we wake him every 4 hours at night to feed until he started gaining his weight back. So he's never slept through the night and I think that's why. He became dependent on those middle of the night feedings and just wakes out of habit now. If he doesn't get a bottle, he's awake every 30-60 minutes. 9 months with very little sleep, a rambunctious 4 year old, an EXTREMELY demanding more than full time job, and I'm exhausted. Does anyone have any tips or tricks to help him along? I've even given him .25mg of melatonin to help wind him down at night... But he still wakes up.
He is put to bed drowsy. So we don't rock him to sleep. He shares a room with his brother as we only have a two bedroom home. We keep the room pitch black. He doesn't sleep with any blankets or pillows. And there is no noises in his room that'll wake him up. I really have no idea what else we can do.
