Is it bad to skip the placebo pills?

I get really really awful cramps to the point where I can't get out of bed and not even max strength midol helps. I've heard of people skipping the placebo pills at the end of the birth control pack so they don't get their periods but I'm worried there would be negative side effects. Does anyone do this?

I went into planned parenthood today and got on the pill. I explained that my periods are awful. I vomit all day long on the first day and spend it in the fetal position on the floor. He told me skip the placebo pills. So everyday I will take a pill with hormones so I will no longer have periods. This is the paper he gave me :) hope this helps!

It doesnt work for everyone personally ive never tried it because my periods so short and light that itd just be a waste of messing with my hormones lol i wouldnt suggest doing it every month though.. There are girls that do 3 months of skipping it then they dont skip it for a month so your period comes... My friend skips the pills every now and then if she has like a party or something to attend and then after skipping them the next month she gets a really heavy painful period for mostly the whole month.. So id honestly talk to your doctor about what you can do to help with the cramps before messing with your cycle

They are just there to help keep you on track. You can skip the pills and just go without them for as many days as you should have been taking them. But if your cramps are that bad i suggest talking to your doctor. They have other pills that you can take to help reduce cramps 😊😊
