To stay on hormonal BC or to live freely and have no chemicals?

Hey Girlies- 
Ive been on birth control since i was 15- am now 18. I was on the pill for a year and have had the implanon for two years. 
During this time ive been in 3 commited relationships and have not been using condoms- have been tested and am all clear 💪🏻

But im not commited at the moment and am okay with being on my own and just enjoying life and the start of Uni- but im kinda sick of not having my period and getting it every 4 months or so- its pretty gross by this time and i wanna let my body do its natural thing for a while.

But theres also the question of keeping myself safe during uni- im hopibg that this eill be a gun time of exploration for me and cannot decide if i should trust the condom or stay with the implanon and condoms... 
Any opionions and personal experiences?

Be freeeeeee! Haha, I have never felt better since coming off birth control. I use condoms, they are super effective when used properly.

I have been off birth control for 9 years. I had to get on a low dose to help my hormones but not for long. I have been using condoms only and my body feels great. I had one scare and i took plan b never again. But other than that my body feels good. I was on the pill i always for got to take them, I was on the shot loss my hair, gained weight, low sex drive, off and on period, started having seizures, I was on the patch it didn't stay on all the time then i could afford them. After I had my daughter i started using condoms only. My only suggestion when using condoms is if you doing it for a long time change the condom.

I have paragard an still get my period every month it's a little irregular but it's ok. 
My sister is more in your boat. She had a terrible time coming off the pill she was on it 2 or 3 years an didn't get a period for I think 6 or 8 months finally in the middle of the night she called me really late an I was so glad I answered the phone cause she was all alone and her body was trying to start her cycle an making her real emotional. She cried for hours. She got it the next day, but she's free right now doesn't use anything except condoms and she still doesn't get a period but every 3 or 4 months. The pill really messed her up. I think you'll be ok with condoms though.

I'm 21 and been on implant for 4 years now. I'm currently in same boat and the best option for me looks to be the copper IUD. It's non hormonal and just as effective as hormonal contraceptives

I'd suggest a non-hormonal BC in addition to condoms like diaphragms, cervical cap, or Paragard. You could also us spermicide and avoid sex during your fertile window, which requires physical tests and tracking methods to do successfully. I always feel it's best to use at least two forms of contraceptive at all times. And condoms should always be used if you don't know for sure that both parties are clear of STIs and are not in a long term committed relationship together. Best of luck 💕
