scared of external version

I believe my baby is still breeched from what my doctor could tell today and she talked about external versions if she doesn't turn on her own. I'm really nervous about the risks involved of possible preterm labor or the placenta detaching or something hurting the baby. I don't want to have a c section either but I feel like if it's only a 50/50 chance the external version will work, is it even worth it? Ugh, I'm scared!
