Bilirubin blanket
My baby was born September 7(last Wednesday) on Friday they determined he was jaundice... He's been on a blanket since last Friday. We've been going for labs and they just never get better. The only time he doesn't have his light on is when he nurses. It's so hard to keep him awake for a good feeding because babies with high bilirubin are extra sleepy. He doesn't produce enough poopy diapers or wet diapers because he can't stay awake long enough to eat a lot. I just feel like it's a vicious cycle...
The pediatrician is asking me to count his poopy and wet diapers. I'm having a hard time telling if they're wet. He doesn't produce enough urine to turn the line colors on the diapers.. And I can't ever really tell on the inside either because of the Vaseline from his circumcision...
This is all just harder than I thought it was going to be...
Does anyone have experience with their little one having jaundice and it taking a while to kick? What all did they do?
