Long Distance: Is it worth it?

My boyfriend and I have been friends for 2 years and dating for almost one. He moved back home 2 hours away to this remote town amd with his limited transportation we've been aiming for 2x a month visits. Only Im selfish and him just being in the same room with me is better than any phone conversation. Im trying to compromise but I just feel more needy and yes we have had lengthy conversations regarding it. However, the 2 hour drive is hard to come by and there fore our options are limited. What course of action would you take? And do you believe LDRs are worth it?

When you're young, like under 30, make the most of what you can but don't be too hung up on it. I did long distance for two years at 32-34 years old and it was easy. Use Skype, plan ahead as much as possible.

It takes a strong relationship and strong people to make LDR work but if you truly love eachother and have the same future goals where one day one will move to be with the other when time is right it can be worth it all.  Met my husband while visiting family in portugal and I'm from Cali... we hit it off immediately and spent tons of time together during my vacation.  We continued with Skype and he came to visit me for a month and we decided to work on getting a fiancé visa. Which takes a lot of documents and time to do... we were in our LDR for 2.5 years before he finally got his visa and now we've been married for 2.5 years and all now all that is behind us and have a great life together.   It was hard but all so very worth it

It only works if all your needs of a relationship are met. I had zero problems with my ex, but I moved 4hrs away and we decided that we were people that wanted our partner to be at least in the same town.

My husband and I lived across the country from each other for 2 years. One while we were engaged and the 2nd after we got married. He is a PhD student and I was also in college so we were only able to see each other on our breaks. It's tough, but as long as you have open lines of communication, it can work. Just make sure you have lots of data on your phone plan and be considerate of each other's schedules and obligations. It's tough, but possible! Good luck!

Me and my fiance have a somewhat long distance relationship due to his work. For 9 days at a time he is gone. He goes to North Dakota, Wyoming, Nebraska, Montana, etc. Luckily he normally gets to come home for nine days unless his trip is extended which has happened once.

My Husband and I lived 1.5hrs away while dating.  And now,  we share a home roughly half the year,  the rest we are 13+hrs apart,  or more when he goes to other countries.  It's hard,  it's lonely but it's so worth it. 
We cherish the days we have together,  make memories and love one  another. 
We play online games and watch Netflix, among other things to stay connected,

I was long distance (8ish hour drive or 1 hour flight) with my now-husband for 2.5 years & it was 100% worth it!! I am a person who prioritizes spending time together over all else so it was VERY hard, but I'm so glad we did it. We've been married for 7 years now!
