anyone else's boyfriend being a jerk about breastfeeding in public??

My boyfriend keeps saying if u do it u need to be discreet  as if I I have to hide somewhere to do smh so pissed off this morning and annoyed

My husband doesn't mind but he did ask me to cover up, definitely not hide in a restroom or anything like that though. But it doesn't bother me, with all these creepy people out there you just never know, I'd rather buy a cover and feed my son under it for our own privacy though.

You see more boob in a bikini than you do when your baby is latched - I fail to see how a nursing bra and your baby correctly latched is in any way indiscreet - if you feel more comfortable using a cover then use a cover - and if you don't and baby does not like it - Then others will have to suck it up - it's not like you're letting the other one hang out for all to see or jiggling them in people's faces - you're feeding your baby and that's what your boobs are for

I personally have no interest in breastfeeding in public but maybe he is just meaning to use a cover so you're not exposing yourself but he is not expressing himself well? Maybe once you calm down you can try to talk to him about it 😃

My boyfriend knew better to say anything negative towards breastfeeding. I never used a cover. Didn't see the need for it. When properly latched you can't see the nipple.

Your husband/boyfriend doesn't own your body, it's as simple as that! You don't need his "permission" to breastfeed your child. Do what you need to do for your baby, and don't let anyone tell you otherwise!

My SO was saying the same thing up until we went to our breastfeeding class.  He learned so much about the tedious effort it takes and quickly realized that covering up when trying to feed a crabby baby might be close to impossible.  He encourages breastfeeding because it's the best option for baby so he's fully on board now!!!

When he goes to eat his food grab a cover and put it over his face (not in a angry way) see if that gives him a clue ... Or ask him to go to another room and eat when company is around... With my first I did all of those even fed my son in the bathroom my seconf time around I had twins and didn't care where I fed them since it was already a hassle. ... He maybe she do research and compare formula and breast milk maybe he won't feel like that anymore

I don't see a problem with feeding in public, but if he is so concerned and you plan to pump too he should be put in charge of on the go feeding. Make him pack and feed the little one while your out and about, and if he doesn't or is too lazy than its his own problem if he feels awkward if you have to whip the girls out in public.
