Hey girls! This may be a long story but I need to rant and any advice is good advice to me.

Okay so there is this new kid in our school and with the school I go to, it's highly unlikely for an attractive guy to move here. They are either gay or hang with the druggies and stuff (no judgement). But this kid, oh no, he is ATTRACTIVE. Like HOTT. Like SEXY. Some girls gawk over him but he never seems interested in them because he's probably used to it and he has a good head on his shoulders. He was in my English class and I was thinking "yay, maybe we can talk and at least become friends" because he seems interesting and he looked really lost. A couple of days later, I've actually got a little crush building up. So I go to lunch and my best friend is like "you know the knew kid? He's in my English class! He is so funny and smart!" And I'm like thinking "ugh, she likes him." So I said "no, he's in my English class." And she said he got switched out so now we have no classes together:( and I'm like "you have a boyfriend!" Like really? She has a boyfriend!!! She talks about the new kid ALL THE TIME NOW.

I try to be a good friend when she talks about him and I let her crush over him or whatever but inside I'm crushed. She broke up with her boyfriend today because he cheated on her and now I'm afraid that she will try to get with the new kid.

Rumors have been going around and I guess he likes her too. They play footsies under the table and stuff like that:(

I keep telling her "aw, good for you!" And "you guys would be cute together." But inside I'm DYING.

I guess my question is how do I deal with this and also keep my friendship with her? It really hurts that they might actually end up together. Like its good for her or whatever and I am proud but it does hurt. Am I a bad friend for feeling this way? When she said she liked him, I felt my heart sink.
