When to start shopping for baby

I found out this week I'll be have a girl. I'm currently 17 weeks and will be 18 weeks on Monday. I want to start buying her things I see at the store. So many things are catching my eye. Then soon after I found out I was having a girl a friend told us not to hold on to the girl card, it still might be a boy. 😑😑😑😑

With my first, as soon as I found out I was having a girl, we went crazy! Now I'm 17 weeks pregnant with a baby boy, I bought him one outfit so far but definitely learned my lesson to take it easy lol You might get a lot of clothes during your baby shower if you have one which happened to us and we were left with so many clothes that she didn't get to wear so we donated. But I completely understand the urge! I'm not going to deny myself buying him things that I love, but I definitely won't go overboard until after our baby shower 😊

Is your friend a doctor? If not, then the word of the trained professional who did the determination is final. Don't talk to this friend too much in the future. 
Otherwise, you can start getting things - if they are on clearance since your child won't be out much for the first several weeks at least. 
Make sure that newborn items do not have buttons next to the neckline: your child won't be holding her head yet, so getting things through the head (on and off) will be difficult and cumbersome, so simplify your life. 
I recommend getting one-piece suits - play and sleep - with feet attached AND only with zippers. Why? That's because when you've been sleep deprived and have to put together those snaps at 3am, you will (naturally) curse each and every one of them.

The genitalia looks the same 14 weeks and before. If your scan was after that point and you saw the parts I wouldn't worry.

I had a gender scan when i was 16 weeks and 5 days and was told a girl and we have started shopping ill be 18 weeks on monday also so have a couple more weeks until my 20 week scan. But we saw inbetween her legs and no boy parts were there so they should say girl at the next scan. If you could see her lady parts clearly and the doctor was confident that ur having a girl then try not to worry in sure she will still be a girl on ur next scan. 😊

I found out I was having a boy at 16 weeks and starting buying him things straight after. Got it confirmed he's still a boy today at 20 weeks. I really doubt they got it wrong I say start shopping now if you feel like it
