The point is she saved the baby's life. The baby was hungry. The woman fed the baby. She did a great job! If anyone thinks negatively on it, they are the problem with society because someone who wouldn't want to help a starving baby is messed up.

I posted this a few months back as well . I already thought that it was a great thing to do . That was her motherly instinct kicking in . They might not have had time to find formula . I think it's a beautiful thing that she done . I haven't came across anything about a baby transmitting any disease or sickness to the mother through breastfeeding so , I don't think it would harm her . The only thing I would think of it to just shower or wash the nipple before feeding her own baby at home . She is a great person and I commend her . I hope that if I am ever in such a predicament, I think fast and do what's needed instead of panicking

She was saving the baby's life. So it's different from someone else just feeding your baby by breast when you're capable or could of pumped your own milk etc, b/c I've seen posts about SIL wanting to breast feed her baby etc etc.

I can't see how anyone would have an issue with this. Should she have just let the baby starve because in other situations we'd have qualms about women who are not the mother breastfeeding the baby?

Good on her for doing what needed to be done to help. I hope the baby is okay now.

With new borns minutes can make a difference and many won't take formula straight away or at all just like some babies won't take the breast straight away. My eldest refused it until he was a year old. That baby could have died if it wasn't for her actions.
