Acid Reflux/GERD???

Question

Anyone have any insight, advice, experience with infants (mine is 6 weeks) with acid reflux/GERD? What kind of symptoms did they have? Lately, I am convinced he's having some sort of reflux and when I call the doctor they say they don't need to see him. TIA!!

My son had silent reflux. He would spit up and then swallow it back. He would never want to burp, cry while eating and after eating, and arching his back. Feeding became very difficult.

I had a baby with a severe case of reflux and was managed by a pediatric GI specialist. He is 6.5 months old now and it is much much better. almost  non existent  now. They told me it would be severe till 11-18 months.  He vomited 40-50 times a day (no exaggeration). He was very fussy and couldnt sleep well. Always wanted to be held and wanted to eat all day long. EBF. He constantly overate. And  being a FTM, I didn't realize how much he was comfort eating. I tried to remove eggs, dairy, tomato, onions, gassy vegetables from my diet but nothing helpes. It was diagnosed by a radiologist that did an ultrasound and a live x-ray with barium contrast. What other details would you like to know? Happy to share.

My son has a pretty bad case of silent reflux. He will be 6 weeks old this week. 3 weeks ago he was put on Prilosec and we didn't see any improvement in the first week so the doctor upped the dosage at his one month checkup since he weighed 11 lbs already! 🐷 now the medicine has seemed to really help him. Before he was on it, he screamed constantly unless he was eating (he is breastfed), arched his back and neck all the time, every time he burped he would make a sour face and scream, didn't sleep well at all, and hated laying on a flat surface. His stomach would also rumble and I could hear and feel it when I was holding him.  I also cut out dairy, tomato products, spicy foods, gassy vegetables, and caffeine from my diet (which has been soooo tough). I'm planning to reintroduce them one at a time once he is better for a couple of weeks straight. Reflux is a tough thing to deal with. Hang in there and know others like me are battling the same thing as you. I just keep telling myself it will all pass one day!!

I'm pretty sure my son has it to a mild degree. He has good days and bad. On his bad days he spits up at every feed and sometimes even like an hr or two after eating. However even though he spits up quite a bit at times they won't do anything about it anyway because he's what they call a happy spitter (doesn't bother him in the least) and although he's not putting on as much weight as I'd like (he's in the 25th percentile at his last check up) he's still putting it on and is not unhealthy sooo as they say it's just a laundry issue.
