Do You Feel Like Your Kid Should Get Arrested If They Get Into An Altercation With Someone At School ?

No, we don't need to get these kids in the juvenile justice system over something that could be solve through mediation or some form of counseling. Let's not ruin their record at such a young age. But, it also depends on the severity; like if they bring a knife or a gun and use or threaten to use it, repercussions should be harsher.

No it's ridiculous. Kids fight. Its gonna happen. No need to waste police's time with kids getting in fights at school. I could see if it got really violent or an ongoing thing. Other than that give them ISS like the good old days.

Honestly no unless they just beat the hell out of them with like a book or hard object that causes the other student damage as in broken bones or severe bruises. Fights happen.

Depends , I've seen school fights where on girl is bang the girls head on the pavement she should go to jail but if it's just "she fucked my man" kinda fight scare the shit outta them

Not properly arrested like being put through the system but they should get scared. They should put the instigator/person who started the fight in handcuffs and put them in a cruiser. If resources allow they should even take them to the station and put them in a room until their parents get them. Fighting can lead to a lot more than a few black eyes. People can die. People have died. It's not something to be toyed with. In high school my school had at least 2 officers there and the station was across the street so obviously his wouldn't work everywhere and would be tailored from place to place but I think a reality check is good for kids.

I don't want more kids unnecessarily in the system. If a reality check is all they need then that should be that. However, if they were a repeat instigator then yes they should be arrested.

It depends on what you mean by altercation and the circumstances. This isn't entirely black or white. I honestly feel like "kids" these days (highschool) are kind of babied and protected from the realities of adult life that we are meant to be preparing them for simply because we want to give them the best futures possible. Sometimes that means letting them face the full consequences of their actions so that they might learn from them.

If they assaulted someone and it wasn't self defense then they should take responsibility for their actions.
