Would you go to your best friends bachelorette weekend away if you were pregnant?

My best friend's bachelorette weekend is next week and I am five weeks pregnant. I really wanted to go but my husband and my friend both said if it was them they wouldn't go. The weekend will be all about drinking and it's not fun being around drunks when you are sober. Now I am unsure.

At 5 weeks, unless you're having bad morning sickness, you should go. You can celebrate without drinking. I'm in a wedding at 37 weeks and have to forgo the bachelorette party (which is at 35 weeks). Not bc I can't drink but bc I wasn't allowed any input in the date and I just think 35 weeks is too late for me given how I've been feeling already at 31 weeks.

It comes down to how will you feel having to go about this weekend sober...
It sounds like your friend is ok with you not going so you don't need to feel bad there...maybe you can take her out for a dinner just the two of you another time to make up for missing it...

I picked no before I read that you're 5 weeks-- in my opinion, 5 weeks is still fine to go and have fun, you can still have fun if you're not drunk. I was thinking you were farther along. I'm 35 weeks, I couldn't imagine doing it now lol I'd be asleep before the fun started. I say go and enjoy it bc the further you are in pregnancy, the harder it can be to get out and find energy to do stuff.

My 5 month pregnant friend threw my bachelorette party. She was the designated driver, made sure we were all safe, and she had a blast even though she wasn't drinking. She said it was hilarious watching all of us and talking to us. You can definitely go.

Is it being held locally? If so, then you can atleast make an apperance and once things start getting to rowdy for you simply leave.

I think it depends on how you handle being the only sober one. To me, it's not that fun and I feel like I just bring down the group some. If you are the type of person that can still have a good time without drinking, I say go for it! I feel like your friend would understand either way honestly and you shouldn't feel obiligated either way.

I'll be a few weeks shy of full term for my Sister in Law's bachelorette party. We keep joking that I'll just be the designated driver!

I'm also planning her bridal shower.

I'll have a lot on my plate, but I don't feel like being unable to drink is a good enough reason to miss something important to her. If I feel like absolute shit, I might have to alter my plans, but otherwise, I can handle a night of virgin drinks.

IMO if you want her to support you through your pregnancy & beyond, you need to be there for her now. This is a huge part of her life. Don't stay home just because you can't drink. That's pretty selfish.
