my MIL is driving me crazy
I'm 23w3d pregnant. At 18 weeks, I went for a routine ultrasound and found out our little girl has bladder outlet obstruction. Her bladder fills with urine but doesn't expel the urine because it's shaped like a clover. Over the last month, I've had three amniocentesis procedures and two fetal bladder stents put in. The last stent was put in a week ago Monday. Today we found out neither stent is working and she's back to having zero amniotic fluid around her. The amniotic fluid has been an issue with all of this. Without amniotic fluid, the lungs can't develop.
Sooo, our last option is having a third stent put in. If this doesn't work, we are out of options. I'll have to carry until I'm almost full term, deliver and let nature take its course.
Upon hearing the news, my MIL said she was sorry and said, "but y'all still need to try for another one." Really? This woman has zero tact. It really pisses me off. Who says something like that to a mother who is going to have to go full term and deliver a still born or a baby who only lives a few hours? And she said it so matter of factly, as if it's just like getting a new dog or something. 😳🙄
