Relationship Consultant - what do you think?

Ok, so I have had a string of bad relationships.

Last Boyfriend: verbally abusive and ended up hitting and raping me
Boyfriend before that: not a bad guy, but had no intentions of a long term relationship, just wanted a committeed partner while it was good for him.
Boyfriend before that: cheated on me every chance he got, we even got engaged before I found out
Boyfriend before that: yo-yoed between me and another girl for months
Boyfriend before that: abusive and now in jail for breaking his (now ex) wife's jaw

I have been single and working on myself for the past 6 months. I recently started casually, calmly, slowly seeing a guy, but I'm still worried. I WANT to break my horrible destructive cycle. I want a happy and healthy relationship.

My friend used a relationship consultant here in Houston and loved the results. The consultant cleaned up and shaped her online dating profiles (eHarmony & match), they talked once a week (or every other week) about the dates she went on and the consultant pointed out minor red flags in a couple guys my friend went out with and she ended up helping her find a really good guy she is now getting married to.

So, my question is, what do y'all think about this? Would you be open to an outside person's opinions and input on your dating life? If you could call up someone and say "here's what happened on our date. Here's what he told me. Here's what I thought." If you were actively looking, would you think that was a good use of your money?
