So I was wondering if it's okay to breastfeed while smoking cigs/weed ? I have a few friends who do it but not like everyday. And there babies are perfect?!

Smoking anything will affect the baby. If ur smoking weed it can be past on to your child.  Why would you risk it?

No! You pass on whatever goes into your body into your babies. Why would you even risk it? The health of your LO is far more important than smoking and if it's that serious to you don't breastfeed. It's just selfish imo. So go with formula at least you won't pass any possible toxins onto your child.

I think it's nieve to say that your friends babies are perfectly healthy so why wouldn't it be okay for me to smoke. Even if they "look" okay that doesn't mean your baby wouldn't suffer from any effects- which may not be obvious immediately. Giving up cigs and such is such, at least while your feeding, is a small sacrifice for your babies health.  You pass everything on to your baby. Motherhood is about sacrifice. Good luck to you!

No its not safe. Nicotine and marijuana both enter your blood the same as alcohol. Would you drink while breastfeeding? If not, then why would you want to smoke while breastfeeding?

Just pump and dump if you're going to smoke. It's a proven fact that 2nd hand smoke is just as harmful as 1st hand smoke. To me, it's not worth it but to each their own.

There are women who do meth and drink like fishes with perfect babies, the question is is it with the risk. There are no definitive studies on weed and pregnancy/breastfeeding.
