Pregnant after cold knife cone?

Hi glow ladies!

​I'm hoping some of you can relate & give me hope for the future...
​ 
​I recently had cold knife cone surgery to remove cervical cancer (adenocarcenoma in situ, for the medical people). They estimate I had about 50% of my cervix removed. I'm admittedly nervous about TTC (once they recheck to make sure the cancer doesn't come back), but even more nervous about staying pregnant (I'm now at increased risk for preterm labor &/ or incompetent cervix).

​I'm posting in "success stories," hoping that some of the women here can give me hope that they've not only conceived after a cold knife cone, but that things are going well with their pregnancies!

I had a cold knife cone 2.5 yrs ago. I am currently 13w5d pregnant. I go in more frequently for ultrasounds and check-ups. I had my 1st ultrasound at 7 weeks and will have an ultrasound every other week from week 16-22 to check on my cervix to make sure it is holding the baby ok. So far so good with me! Doctor said worse case scenario bed rest or cervical stitch. He did recommend that we wait 6 months post-op before even trying to conceive though. GL!!

Vanessa I am in the exact same situation. Just had my cone 2 weeks ago. Wanting to get pregnant as soon as possible too but they are recommending I wait till my next checkup to see if good to start trying but it's so scary! Are you pregnant yet? Any advice?

I had a cone procedure about 6 years ago to remove pre-cancerous cells and am now 7 weeks pregnant. It shouldn't have any effect on ability to conceive. Worst case scenario would be difficulty carrying the baby late in the pregnancy, in which case the cervix is stitched closed until it's time for delivery. Good luck to you! I had LEEP May 29 and got pregnant July 5. It wasn't a serious one, but I had a larger area removed with a previous LEEP about a year earlier.

​I'm now 15 weeks and doing fine!

I had loop/letz last year and am now 12 weeks pregnant! I little scared that my cervix is weak but fingers crossed it's ok! They told me it can increase the risk of prem baby but r gonna keep a close eye on me cos I had a massive bleed after my loop and had my cervix stitched to stop the bleeding! Also worried about that! Fingers crossed so far so good

I'm not pregnant (yet) but I've had a cone biopsy and will eventually have to have a hysterectomy.

​My gynoand gp both said it should not affect me getting preg. If anything we have to watch that our cervix is strong enough to carry the baby and my need stitches. So make sure when you conceive you let your gyno know ASAP.

​My coworker wife had a cone and they conceive and carried to term so I'm staying optimistic.
