My standpoint on our Parental leave in the US. Let's hear yours!
It knows NO race or ethnicity and EVERY citizen in America is affected in someway by this...
Just take a moment to imagine if the US revamped their system to actually begin rewarding those that work to provide for their families but also want to raise children that know who they are and have as many memories with them as possible.
Imagine, that the system that is currently geared toward people that don't work by either choice or disability, would be taxes applied to this change.
(Not an insult at ALL, get the help you can if you need it! That's what it's there for. But it really is next to impossible to obtain if you have a decent job but hit a rough patch and just need help getting back on your feet)
It wouldn't just help the parents of children and their children, it would help your friends, family, and even yourself as it would not only benefit parents (crazy concept pal isn't it?)
The same type of people against this, are the same people that comment on news articles about how poorly children are raised, how parents need to be more available etc.
We're not asking you to raise our children or to pay our rent. We're fighting for the chance to embrace human nature and parent our children while maintaining employment and providing for them and to make sure they are safe.
Believe it or not, there are parents that aren't already receiving assistance just like there are people that do receive it but aren't abusing it.
I am almost 5 months pregnant with my second child, I have many appointments I stress about being able to make due to work, my 2.5 year old has appointments. On top of that, I work SIXTY hours a week with my minimum of 2 hours commute added. That means there are 108 hours left in the week. Then factor in everything else I have to do and subtract sleep (average 8 hours a night) only FIFTY TWO hours, just barely two days a week, to manage life, appointments, etc. and to actually be with my children. 💔
That explains A LOT with how society is today. Wouldn't you agree?
We talk about: focusing on America over other countries, improving education, raising children to be decent and genuine human beings, the amount of greed and corruption already taking place behind our backs in our own government and corporations.
...Why not recognize that the system is unfair?
