I thought they were Braxton Hicks...
I thought I had been having Braxton Hicks contractions for a while now and when my doctor would ask I would just brush it off. I'm not the type to complain too much so I just assumed all was normal. My doctor (who specializes in high risk pregnancies) called my pregnancy "boring".
Well all that changed yesterday when I showed up for my normal 15 minutes appointment only to end up there for 4 hours. They placed me on a monitor to check on those contractions only to realize that they are indeed real and very frequent. I was then sent for an emergency ultrasound to check baby's weight and my cervix length. Turns out I am 60% effaced, baby is head down and putting pressure and I am having very frequent contractions. I was given 2 rounds of steroids to develop her lungs in case of preterm labor (I'm 32 weeks) and sent home for strict bedrest 😣 looks like she wants to come a little early!
